Fermax Citymax

Fermax Citymax Audio Models 2044 – 20447, Video

Fermax Citymax phones available in Singapore are all belong to 4+n Intercom System which allows to replace them directly with no programming on the condominium side whatsoever. The model seems to me discontinued by Fermax however this model still available for sale.

I would rather suggest you to replace this model with Fermax Veo which is new model. The reason is sometimes due to not even wall there is a gap between the base and the top cover of the phone. Fermax Veo solved the gap problem.

Another common problem with this phone is that the plastic hook which holds the handset in place is broken and your phone cannot accept any visitor calls. Fermax Veo has magnet to hold the handset in place instead hence it is more superior in terms of stability as compared to the Citymax. The list of other common problems with this model you can find below.

The parts of Fermax Citymax audio phone can be used to replace audio panel of Fermax Citymax video phones:

Fermax Citymax front cover.

Other common problems with Fermax Citymax 2044, 20441, 20443, 20447 and Citimax Video:

  1. No call sound, cannot hear the visitor on handset.
    – Replace handset or phone. Replacing handset alone may not work sometimes because the PCB of the phone is degrade due to the age.
  2. There is call sound, cannot open the door / trigger the lift.
    – Replace PCB or phone. PCB replacement is not possible for Video models.
  3. All of the above.
    – Check with your neighbors or the management whether they have similar problem. If yes, the problem is on the side of the condominium management. If your neighbors don’t have the same problem – replace the PCB or the phone.
  4. No video on video phone.
    – Check video availability using another phone. If there is video on new phone – replace the phone. If there is no video on the new phone – the problem is on condominium side.

My suggestion is to replace your current phone with the new one in any case because electronics tend to degrade in Singapore climate.
